Dear Janvil;

I write to tell you how pleased I am with your glass restoration products.

During the course of painting my picture window (18 panes about 2' x 2'), I washed the exterior frames with TSP - a product I have used often. But in this case, with the weather threatening, I did not wash off the excess that ran on the windows - not realizing at the time how critical this step is. The next weekend I went to complete the project, but to my dismay, the TSP that ran on to the windows had etched the glass. I called the TSP manufacturer, but they could offer no help.

I then searched the internet, found your web site and ordered your glass restoration product. Last Saturday in Boston the temperatures reached unusually into the 70's and so I tried your product. The results were startling. The etched glass came out like new. I could not detect any remaining etching. And the process was easy, all done by hand. I treated all 18 window panes in the course of the afternoon.

Thank you for developing this remarkable product. It saved me hundreds of dollars in glass replacement.

Best regards,

Larry M.

Hello Janvil,

Received your glass restoration system and all I can say is WOW!!!!  The side and back windows on our car were so spotted & etched with some type of chemical; it posed a danger at times because the view was very distorted.  We were on the verge of getting all the windows replaced until Janvil saved the day.  After the first application we could see a great difference.   A second treatment gave us an 85% improvement!!!!

This weekend we'll give it another couple of treatments to get even more clarity.   We're very excited about your products.

Sincerely,

Gracie K.

Hello Janvil;

As you told me on the phone wait until temp gets to 70, which I did since last winter when I bought the scratch remove kit. I used my grandson and I we got quite a surprise. We could not find the scratch that the sweeping wiper blade with ice had caused. Thanks

Dear Janvil;

I recently bought and used your glass restore system cleaning up an antique bottle. It worked out so well I am writing an article to be placed in a national bottle magazine about the project.

I own a business and live in the California bay area. As anyone might have noticed, gang tagging is becoming a huge problem. They scratch the glass, they burn and etch it with acid and they even add paint to the acid. Our business district was becoming destroyed with this mess. I tried even chemical imaginable to no avail. I then hired a local company to remove the damage from my storefront since I had just replaced the glass a month before and now the mess was back.

The company came out armed with polisher in hand and a bunch of stuff. After a couple hours of them working away, my glass looked like new. I was amazed. I asked them what they used and the said it was something they get from a supplier but they kept the mane hush-hush. That evening, I went searching the internet and there it was. They were using a Product from Janvil. It was the Janvil Glass Revive system. I ordered it the next day and used it from some other problems I had at my store. It is like Harry potter in a box.

This was back in May when I bought the kit. Since then our block association has hired a grounds maintenance person/security guard and bought the Janvil Glass revive product for him to use. It has saved us bunch of money and made our little corner of paradise a lot brighter. I’m sure this type of product would not work in every situation or for everyone because there is some work involved but when it does it work, it is nothing short of marvelous. I am glad there are still products like this being made in the USA.

Janvil;

I have to tell you...your Glass Renew is an absolutely amazing product. The glass on my old Pontiac wasn't too bad, but now I swear it looks like new. The back windshield was hazy....now it's clear.

I go to lots of shows, so your products will be getting a bunch of word-of-mouth from me.

Thanks

Hi

I recently ordered the Janvil Professional Scratch Removal System (GLASS REVIVE) and want to tell you what a great job it did!  This is an exceptionally worthwhile product.

My problem was that I had a very expensive glass patio door with hundreds of little scratches.  I believe it happened during shipment or installation but I did not notice the scratches until well after the installation was complete and could not get either the manufacturer or the installer to accept responsibility.  I contacted all sorts of glass companies and the door manufacturer looking for a way to remove the scratches.  None of these contacts produced any results.

I happened to find Janvil as a result of a Google search.  After calling and talking to a rep at Janvil, I placed an order.  Within an hour of receiving the product, the scratches were GONE!!!  I could not believe it. I still keep checking to make sure they are really gone.  I cannot tell you how relieved and happy I was. I will be sure to tell others about Janvil.

Now I am going to try my luck on a few scratches in my wife's car windshield.

Thanks so much for an exceptional product.  Keep up the good work.

Hello,

I purchased a GLASS REVIVE - gold package -complete Professional glass scratch removal kit from you and received it Friday morning.

Being an owner of a window washing company with several employees serving new construction clean up and established commercial accounts, I praise your products highly.

The reason I ordered the kit was some workers of mine used a razor on four homes and scratched the windows, some pretty deep.  The cost replacement of these (Tempered) windows combined is in a range of $5,000 - $10,000, typical for S. California labor and product rates.

I used the system as instructed in the manual; your products removed 100% of these lesser scratches, and reduced the deep scratches to 98% - hardly noticeable.

The builders are very happy with the results to say the least. For under $300.00, I can already see your wonderful products just saved me close to $10,000 in replacement costs!

What an investment!!

I will certainly be purchasing more of your products again in the near future and am now offering this repair option to my window cleaning service.

Janvil Glass Restoration System Review
By Markus (Scotch) Slater.
 Source . Internet web forum.

A couple weeks back, I ran across a post about scratch removal in glass. I clicked on the posted link and I was assaulted by select pop up ads on the sidebar. Normally I pay little attention to them, but this time something caught my eye about scratch removal from glass so I checked it out. The company is Janvil out of Cartersville GA, not to be confused with Jan-Al the road case folks out of LA. (I used to be a roadie/sound guy before I started doing repairs.)

I bought a (GLASS REVIVE) professional scratch removal kit which I received today, specifically for use with a 5/8-11 buffer. The kit they make for use w/an electric drill or a polisher.  It includes a heavy cutting paste and a lighter compound, plus pads, backing pads with the 5/8-11 arbor size and some other spray goodies and sundry items all delivered for the not-paltry sum of about $90 plus dollars. So I slapped the heavy-duty on my cheapo Chicago-brand Harbor Freight $40 buffer which ain't like the old man's nice Makita but cost me 1/4 of the price and I doubt I'll go through four of them before I'd go through one Makita.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well the cutting compound got into the heavy scratches and I'll be damned if the "pro performance polishing compound" didn't do a number on the rest of the small stuff. Mind you, this stuff only claims to get scratches 4/1000's of an inch deep out of glass but I'd say it'll do better if you're patient and play with the variable speeds a little. It left some swirling which came out great with the Glass Renew compound which came with it.  The glass Glow spray really brightened up the final results.

Not too bad of stuff-If you've got some scratches right where you have to look all the time and you hate to see them; this stuff will likely do the trick.  (I got the extra big tubs-o-compound for the starter size pack plus the bonus pads- for the special price!)  I just go in their Plastic Restore kit for headlights.

I now offer a scratch removal and headlight restoration service to my customers. It has really helped to broaden my repair service offerings.

An article snipped from the web:

I have been polishing glass for 7 years. I first started with windshield wiper scratches and other glass problems, and used a car polisher with a glass polish head and a compound to polish it clear. If the scratch was deep, you would have a distortion, so the location of the scratch would make a difference as to whether I would do the job.

I then started seeing graffiti and other vandalism on glass in the city where I work, and I found a system that I use on that. It is a two part system, the first is a black coarse compound for the deep scratches, the second is a less aggressive one.

I can fit everything I need into a small pick-up truck, and do the work on-site. I can polish light scratches quickly and easily. The deeper ones take more effort and will result in distortion of the glass. Acid etch can be polished with very good results.

What I have found is that some jobs should not be undertaken, but sometimes replacing the glass is wasteful. There have been claims made that the glass is stronger after polishing, but I don't know. The theory is that the scratch removal relieves the surface stresses.  I do know that one of the first jobs that I did 7 years ago, a deep scratch across the middle in a high traffic area, still looks great.

I would say that learning what can be done and how to do it, estimating the time required, all the maintenance of the tools, and the dealing with the sometimes difficult customers is the tough part.

Polishing the glass with the Janvil System can be fun once you know what you are doing. I work downtown mainly, and people are happy to see me, and I can make good money with it. Learning to do it is a big commitment, which is why some of people drop out of the business.
